Annual Quilt Show Held April 15 & 16, 2011

The Annual Quilt Show is hosted by the
Terry County Quilters Guild. This year's Quilt Show was a huge success with more than 200 people coming to view approximately 160 quilts! Nell Smith, one of four certified quilt appraisers in Texas came from Odessa to show the appraisal process.
Special displays at the Show included a quilt designed by the Quilters Guild which the county commissioners will take to an upcoming convention. Each block of the quilt honors a Terry County industry or crop, including cotton, grapes and peanuts.
Another display informed visitors of the volunteer quilting project the Quilters Guild does for Children's Protective Services and hospitalized children at Brownfield Regional Medical Center.
The Quilters Guild made the quilt
shown above. It includes the 10 blocks seen on the Quilt Trail. The quilt is displayed at
the Brownfield Chamber of Commerce, 221 Lubbock Rd. This dedicated group quilts together monthly.
